Seasons on a Sales Order

Your Sales Orders, Reports and Dashboards display summaries of activity by Seasons provide you with useful information to help you manage decisions about your business (e.g. when production orders need to be released for a particular season, whether to retire a season, etc).  Understanding how these work and how they are displayed throughout Uphance when multiple seasons are involved on Sales Orders is key to helping  you make these decisions.

Originating Sales Order Season

When your customer places their order on your eCommerce store, they may browse multiple Seasons.  Or, if you manually create the sale, you may not know which Season(s) the customer will want to purchase from (e.g. for walk-ins or phone orders).

So you may start with one season on the DRAFT as shown in Figure 1:

Figure 1:

And, this originating Sales Order Season is shown at the top of the Sales Order as illustrated in Figure 2:

Product Line Item Seasons

As you add products (line items) to your Sales Order (Figure 3), these may come from a completely different season (or multiple seasons) that are not even part of the original Sales Order Season:

Sales Order List Season Displayed

When you look at your Sales Orders summary lists, you can see your orders listed. In the example below, we have filtered specifically for the order created in Figure 1 & 2.  Please note the Sales Order is listed with the originating Sales Order Season rather than the line item season:

Even if you have multiple products on that order from 20 different seasons or zero products on that order from that originating season, the originating Season is the only one that will be displayed.

Your Dashboard also shows the Sales Order originating season rather than individual line item season.

Changing Originating Sales Order Seasons

If you decide you do not want that Originating Sales Order Season, you can change this directly on the Sales Order by performing the following:

  1.  Open the Sales Order

  2. Click on the Originating Season (Figure 2)

  3. From the drop down menu, select the Season you want represented for this order (e.g. perhaps the most products for that season). (Figure 6)

  4. Click Update Sale (Figure 6)

Reports

The Sales By Retailer by Season Report is broken down by the Season of the individual line items on the order rather than the Sales Order season because it totals ALL orders and line items for the customer on this report.
