When you ship products to your Consignment customers, they may want to return the products that do not sell. In another instance, you might want to create a return after the product holding period has elapsed.
Issuing a Consignment Return will adjust the inventories for both you and your Consignment customer. This means when a consignment return is created, it will be deducted from your customer's inventory and added to yours.
Consignment Returns work very similar to standard Sales Order Returns. Please see the standard Returns Knowledge Article for details on creating, editing and checking in Returns.
The Consignment Return will
Decrease In stock in the Consignment warehouse
Add the stock to the warehouse from which the consignment order was originally picked.
How to Create a Consignment Return
Creating a consignment return is pretty straightforward. First, locate the consignment order by navigating to Order Management >> Sales Orders. To make it easy to find the consignment order, filter all sales for consignment.
When you've found it, create a return for that order. You can select a reason and sub-reason for creating the return:
After completing the return, you can check for inventory level changes in your change log. You can access this by navigating to Inventory Management >> Product Inventory>> Actions >> View Change log.
To change the return address, you'd have to change the address of the warehouse.
