What are Prepacks?

Prepacks are apparel packages that contain multiple products of different sizes but, usually, the same color, sold as a single product unit.

For example, you can have a pre-pack that contains 3 small, 2 medium, and 4 extra large sizes of, say, a red dress.

The main idea behind prepacks is to save you the stress of filling product quantities manually when creating a sales order.

Thankfully, Uphance makes it easy to create prepacks and also edit them whenever you want.

How to Create Prepacks

To create a prepack, navigate to Settings >> Prepacks

Upon clicking the prepacks button, you will see this page:

On this page, you will see all existing prepacks (if you have them).

To create a new prepack, click the New Prepack button at the top right.

Upon clicking, a modal popup box would appear. In the box, select your preferred sizing system.

After selecting your sizing system, click the Create button to create a new sizing system.

N.B: You can not have more than one sizing system at a time. For instance, if you already use the XS, S, M, L system, attempting to use it again will fire up a system error.

Upon clicking the Create button, Uphance will create a sizing system for the prepack you want to create.

By default, the newly created sizing system won't have any prepack. You will have to add them by clicking the + button.

When you click that button, a line of prepacks will be added to the sizing system, starting from A. For example, Prepack A.

Of course, you can always name the prepacks whatever you want by editing the name field.

Adding Product Quantities to Prepacks

After creating a prepack, the next thing you will want to do is to add product quantity to each pack. To do so, simply enter a size quantity for each prepack.

For example, for the sizing system XS, S, M and L, you can enter the following quantity for Pack A: 50, 30, 45, 10.

You can use different quantities for different prepacks. Or you can make them all similar - it's your call.

Assigning Prepacks to Products

After creating prepacks, the next thing you will want to do is assign them to products. This will come in handy when you want to create sales orders for a product.

To assign a prepack to a product, all you have to do is to ensure that the product's sizing system matches the sizing system of the prepack you just created.

For instance, let's say you created a prepack with the sizing system of XS, S, M, L and want to assign it to a product. To do so, open the product.

In the Product Details section, click the Sizes dropdown and select XS, S, M, L:

Then click the Save button at the top right corner of the page.

To be sure the prepack was applied to the product, click the Variations tab and then scroll down a little. You will see this:

You can select the prepack you would like to use to create your sales orders here, too.

If you enabled Automatic SKU, Uphance will only assign SKUs to your prepacks automatically - barcodes are excluded.

Don't forget to click the Save button once you have selected your preferred prepack.

Assigning Prepacks in Sales Orders

After creating a prepack and assigning it to a product, Uphance allows you to use it when creating a sales order for that product.

To use the prepack in your sales order, first, search for the product. When you find it, select the variant you want. You will also see the prepack for the product.

For example, in the screenshot above, we selected Pack C, which contains 30, 20, 8, and 25 units of XS, S, M, and L sizes of this blue hoodie.

Enter the multiplier value for the prepack. For instance, if you enter 1, the product quantity will come out at 30, 20, 8, and 25.

But if you enter 2, it will come out at 60, 40, 16, and 50

On and on in that order.

When you are done, hit the Add Products button to add the product and its quantity to the sales order.

Keep in mind that prepacks can also be used in production orders
