Managing product development just got a whole lot easier, as you can set a duration period and an approver for each stage.
For example, if you set the duration period for the Sampling Stage as 10 days and it starts on the 10th of August, Uphance will automatically set the due date as August 20th. The same applies to other development stages.
In this guide, we will show you how to set a development duration as well as an approver.
How to Set Duration Period for a Product Stage
To set a duration period for a stage, navigate to Settings >> PLM.
When the PLM page opens, locate the Product Stages section and set a duration for each of the stages.
To do so, click the pencil for each stage, then enter a numeric value in the Duration field and save.
After setting the duration period for all the stages, the next thing you will want to do is to set a start date for a product's development.
To do so, open the target product by navigating to Product Information >> Products. Select a product, click the Design tab, then enter the Start date. Uphance will automatically populate the rest using the duration information you earlier provided.
Setting an Appover and Member For Each Stage
To further streamline your product development workflow, we've given you the option of selecting a member and an approver for each stage.
Setting an approver means only one person can approve a product stage for completion. If someone else tries to mark the stage as complete, it will enter a pending status until the approver gives the go-ahead.
The flow is illustrated below:
