How to Create Placements for Materials and Services

Creating placements makes it easy to organize your tech packs efficiently. Adding placement to products in production lets your manufacturer know exactly where to place certain materials, hence fostering accuracy.

Creating Placements

You can create as many placements as you want and then use them in product production. To create one, navigate to Settings >> PLM >> Placement:

You can add an internal note for description purposes. Also, you can set the placement for primary materials. If you do, your primary materials will take that placement by default.

How to Set Placements for Materials and Services

Once you've created a placement, you can proceed to add it to your products for a smooth development process.

To do so, open the product you would like to add the placement to, click the Production tab, and scroll to the Materials/Services section. Then add a new material and select the placement as illustrated below. Be sure to save when you are done.
