You may have products coming from multiple warehouses. Uphance allows you to manage your inventory for all of these warehouses to fill your sales orders and restock from your production orders.
You can add as many warehouses as needed.
Enabling Multi Warehouse
To turn on the "Multi Warehouse" functionality, navigate to Settings>Warehouse. Slide the button right to enable the multi warehouse feature. Slide the button left to disable. If it is "blue", it is "enabled" as noted below.
If you need to add additional warehouses, click the plus sign in the right corner of the screen.
Type of Warehouses
Once you add a new Warehouse (or edit an existing one), you must specify what type of warehouse. There are 3 types as shown below.
Product Warehouse - As you sell these products to your customers, your stock inventories will decrease. And, as you release Production Orders and receive deliveries from your Manufacturers, your stock will increase.
Material Warehouse - Used to track the raw materials you receive from your suppliers. As you send Production Orders to your Manufacturers for building the Products where you have these raw materials associated, your stock levels will decrease. As you submit Material Orders to your suppliers and receive the raw materials, your stock levels for this warehouse will increase.
Consignment - As you ship products from your Product Warehouses to your Consignment customers, your Product Warehouses inventory will decrease and your customer's Consignment warehouse inventory will increase. If you select "Consignment", you will get a drop down list of Customers. You must specify which customer the Consignment Warehouse will be used for. Only one customer may be designated per Consignment Warehouse. Please see our Consignment Getting Started Knowledge Article for additional information on usage and other related articles.
Usage of Multi Warehouse Functionality
Once you enable multi-warehouse, you will notice the additional warehouse selections become available to you across the board on all your sales orders, pick tickets, shipments, production orders, deliveries, inventory adjustments, SKUs, inventory reports, etc. While the details of managing these items are addressed in the other relevant Knowledge Articles, here's a quick @ a glance view for you on where you can apply the multi warehouse functionality:
When you create a new Sales Order, you are presented with the option to specify which Warehouse you plan to fill the order from. Select the drop down menu under Warehouse as illustrated below:
When your products are ready to ship and you create your Pick Tickets, select the appropriate Warehouse from the drop down menu as shown below:
Note: If your customer is setup as a Consignment customer, their Warehouse will automatically be the Consignment Warehouse. For more information on how this works, see our Consignment Knowledge Articles.
When submitting your Purchase Orders for your Production Orders, specify which Warehouse you want your supplier to deliver the product to. The Purchase Order option is on the main left vertical menu directly below your Production Orders.
From your Production Orders, select "Delivery" from the right drop down menu. There you will see a drop down menu to select the Warehouse in which you want to receive your new production order into your inventory.
When performing your manual stock adjustments, click the edit button and change your Warehouse to one of your newly created warehouses.
Use your Inventory Adjustments as explained above to receive your products from your suppliers into the appropriate warehouses. Then, from the SKU's menu, select which Warehouse you would like to view products for as shown below. You can access the SKU's menu from your main left vertical menu. Or, you can also see your SKU's directly within your specific products.
All Inventory Reports allow you to select which warehouse you want to include on the report. You can report on your current inventory levels at each warehouse or you can report on what inventory is needed to fill orders by each warehouse. See the reporting section for additional reporting options. The reporting section is available by selecting "Reports" from your main left vertical menu.
